ChatGPT: The AI App Everyone is Using

The speed of change is pretty scary, right? I'm trying out AI apps to keep up.

ChatGPT: Almost Everyone's AI App?

Is there anyone who doesn't know ChatGPT? It's seriously everywhere.

You probably know the main features, but just in case:

Main Features

*   Natural conversations (It feels like you're talking to a real person!)

*   Writing, coding (Great for creative tasks)

*   Multilingual support (Works in many languages!)

Contextual understanding (It remembers the flow of the conversation)

 Text and image processing (Multimodal!)

The strengths are its natural language processing, creativity, and ease of use. That's why so many people pay for it.

(Heads up! Make sure you get the real ChatGPT from OpenAI! I hear there are fake apps out there that'll rip you off.)

My friend is a paid ChatGPT user, and he says it's incredibly useful for his work. I don't need that level of professional help, though...

The free version is plenty for me. There's a temporary limit if you use it a lot, but it's not a big problem.

The best thing about ChatGPT? It's great at back-and-forth!

Google Gemini sometimes misses the context of the conversation and gets fixated on specific words, but ChatGPT remembers what you've talked about and keeps the conversation flowing naturally.

Here's how I use ChatGPT:

*   Asking about word meanings: "What does OOO mean?"

*   Getting meal recommendations: "I have chicken breast, onions, and potatoes in the fridge. What should I make?"

*   Creating images: "Draw me a picture of a cat in a spacesuit on the moon" (This is fun!)

*   Travel planning: "Recommend some places for a day trip this weekend."

*   Brainstorming ideas: "Give me some ideas for a new project!"

* Simple coding help: "Make code that shows from 1 to 100 with Python"

The key to using ChatGPT well is to ask precise questions. If you do, it usually gives you pretty good answers.

(Caution!) ChatGPT sometimes makes things up, even when it doesn't know the answer. If you need accurate information, be sure to double-check elsewhere (that's why I use multiple AI apps). It's best not to ask about very recent information.

I often use it when I'm thinking, "Ah, what was that called?" It's surprisingly good at guessing!

For example, I suddenly remembered a lodging I'd seen in a travel magazine years ago, but I couldn't remember the name at all. So I asked ChatGPT:

(Example Conversation)

Me: "I saw it in a magazine a few years ago. It's in Korea, near the sea, and it was a detached pension. Do you know where it might be?"

ChatGPT: "[Along with a list of possible accommodations]... Could it be one of these?"

ChatGPT is pretty good at finding things like this, even when it's hard to find them through search.

ChatGPT is also useful for students:

Coding homework: You can ask for hints if you get stuck.

History studies: Like, "Tell me the order of the kings of the Joseon Dynasty."

Proofreading English compositions: (Ethically!) Write it yourself, and then ask it to check for grammatical/stylistic errors.

It's also great when you're short on ideas. If you ask, "Recommend some blog post topics," it will give you several ideas.

It's okay to ask silly questions sometimes.

ChatGPT is a helpful AI that thinks with you and finds information. If you use it well, it can be a really valuable tool!
